I would like to personally welcome you to the 2019 MASCC/ISOO Annual Meeting.
The main themes of this year's Annual Meeting are "Digital Health", "New Treatments, New Toxicities", "Sexual Health", and "Cancer Survivorship". We have several joint sessions with partner organisations (e.g. EONS, ISNCC, ONS, SIOG), and the usual mix of plenary sessions, parallel sessions, and workshops. Our faculty is truly international and features leading experts in all areas of supportive care (and beyond).
This year we also have several "Meet-the-Expert" sessions, including one on writing for Supportive Care in Cancer, one on developing MASCC Guidelines, and one on the use of social media. We also have a "Shark's Tank/Dragons' Den" session, where delegates can pitch their ideas for research and other projects to experienced colleagues. The aim is to provide delegates with relevant advice, support, mentorship, and signposting (as needed).
As well as the cutting-edge scientific program there will be a variety of social events, providing ample opportunities to network with colleagues. There will be a Welcome Reception on the Friday evening (open to all delegates; no extra cost), a New Member's Breakfast on the Saturday morning (for new members of MASCC; by invitation), and the "groovy" Presidential Dinner on the Saturday evening (open to all delegates; extra cost).
I hope you have a great time in San Francisco, and hope to see you all in Seville in 2020!
All the best,
Annual Meeting Chair
