About ISOO

Message from the ISOO President

Over the years, the International Society of Oral Oncology (ISOO) has attracted a significant number of new members. Established in 1984 as The Society for Clinical and Experimental Oral Oncology, ISOO has played a pivotal role as the sole international platform for healthcare professionals interested in multidisciplinary approaches to oral supportive care for cancer patients. An alliance with MASCC was established in 1998 and continues to this day. This collaboration has provided a professional and scientific milieu in which to promote scientific exchange among different healthcare professionals concerned about the impact of cancer treatment on the oral environment, including its effects on tissues, health, and function. Most recently, ISOO members have both published evidence-based guidelines for the management of oral complications of cancer therapy and created numerous patient-care fact sheets and videos, translated into over 20 languages. Recent collaborations with the European Society for Bone Marrow Transplantation (EBMT) and the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) have increased our international impact.

Consider joining us today in our search for new knowledge and support for cancer patients worldwide. Whether you are an experienced clinician or scientist who has spent years working toward improved quality of life for cancer patients or a young scientist or postgraduate student, joining ISOO will give you the opportunity to actively engage with an international clinical and academic community.
My message to you:  Be Inspired; Join Us!
